On this road I travel I ride hard~ Could've taken the easy route but then we may never have met. Thinking of all who have gone before me~ I walk into a room of strangers familiar strangers in unfamiliar places.
Raise your hand if you think something is going on that isn't being shown on Mainstream News (Lie by omission)
You are right! That's all for now.
I have songs to sing~ places to go, people to see.
I'll be going soon to that "Great State of Texas" , I hear people say that once in a while.
I've been of course, this time it's Dallas, Houston and Winnsboro~ I know, I have a funny life and I can't wait to have some more, in Texas~
What are some good Texas songs for me to sing, help me out here, for sure, I will do ‘ ook What They've Done To My Song, Ma’,
most likely ‘Lay Down’ ~
In unfamiliar places it's good to have the staples~ if I should run into any danger I can stun gun 'em with ‘Brand New Key’! Armed but not dangerous, I am.
But then there's ‘Save Me’ , ‘Falling Awake’ (not recorded yet) ‘Bad Ghost’ or ‘On The lamb From The Law‘ ? (obscure)
‘Suicide’ (even more obscure) 'Tried To Die Young’
‘Death Don't Come Easy To The Willing’ ~ wait wait don't go. I got on a Halloween tangent, I know it's over but it’s
Isn't it? When Labor Day is over it begins, one greeting card to cover everything
Brotherhood and love and candy corn, Santa drank a Coke when Christ was born~
Please don't leave yet I'm only kidding~ for those who will be in Texas, for my Texas shows tell me: what you would like from Melanie.
How about ‘good nighty alrighty’ ? A new song! Or not. How about Christmas~ 'Tonight's The Kind Of Night’?
For these shows we'll have Beau Jarred Schekeryk and as a special event Brian Potts on percussion and LeonCarlo on violin!
I'm excited! Maybe we'll do something that we'll rehearse, that would be different.
Well you tell me. I'm open till midnight 24/7, except for Christmas. I'm closed Christmas.
I will be stopping briefly in North Carolina to do a few songs at the AMG musical heritage awards.
Coincidentally, David Cook the president of the AMG, will be playing one of the same places I will in Texas,
The Dosey Doe in The Woodlands where I will be on November 16
Rapping up the completion of my new EP.
I'm thinking of calling it:
Melanie, Melanie! Thee Melanie?
What do you think of this for a title?

Q & A with Melanie
Any chance of another Stage It performance?
Mixed feelings about that
It's good in theory
But something is very wrong
And strangely invasive and voyeuristic, ha, but maybe
Have you ever thought of starting your own music festival? Maybe as a showcase for emerging talent?
Melanie: Yes and I'd love to do that!
Hey Melanie, I want to hear Orion. I never have, so how about sharing a line from the song here. Would you?
Melanie: Orion is on the horizon
December is in the moon
and tonight is all but over
and I will be coming home soon
Out of my way is where I'm going
Will you be going to
You me the sun and the moon
we'll be coming home soon
Thank you for asking will be recording soon
Melanie Did you ever consider being a model?? You are such a beautiful lady. heart emoticon
Melanie: Maybe a role model
I'd like to set a good example in this life
If anything I'd strive to be a good role model there way too many of the other kind already
But thank you
We met when you sang Ruby Tuesday sitting on your chauffeur after a concert in May 1971 in England, and then in your hotel lobby after. Do you remember? My boyfriend gave you his cross and chain.
Melanie: I've lost my wedding ring, A solid gold coin someone gave me in France, things lost or stolen. I don't have the cross and the chain. So many memories to take along, how is it possible, but I do. They have no weight ,take up no time. Memories keep us whole, like music, even sad ones, reminding us of who we are, eternal beings. Yes, I have that memory,
You wrote 5000 songs, I heard?
Melanie: I've never counted but it somewhere over 500 under 5000
Dear melanie Kindly tell us ..which ..out of all your albums do you think is your most creative .....I have it in my mind ........
Melanie: My first impulse an answer without thinking too much is stoneground words
When I first saw you in concert in 1970 you were just singing and didn’t say anything in between your songs, now you talk and tell, how did that change come about?
Melanie: All that time ago I just was afraid to say anything I didn't think I could. And I certainly wasn't about to make jokes
I was just inhibited. Also I believed the song didn't need to be presented or set up.I sensed everybody would know exactly what I meant.
When you're incredibly famous people make a great effort to find out what you talking about in your songs.
As I became less visible, and there weren't as many people making as much of an effort,I started filling in the gap. That's when I discovered there is an entertainment factor here.
People seem to enjoy me telling stories, and talking about the songs. It's a lot easier for me to do that now.
When will you be coming to: Cafe Lena, Saratoga, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Belgium, Seattle, Chicago, New York City, Nashville, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, New Orleans, New Hope, Philadelphia, South Jersey, Solana Beach, Queens, Sellersville, PA, Ohio, NC, Denver,
Melanie: It isn't a lack of willingness
I assure you
There isn't one place mentioned where I wouldn't love to go!
Invitation to ask questions for
"So tell me Melanie if you're so famous and you're so good, how come I never heard of you?" How does someone answer something like this? But I will! Read all about it in this months Knewsletter and ask me something, I'm just days away from knowing everything.
Some of the answers on my Facebook page
Jim McGuire: Well I would say that the person who said he didn't know who you were is a person who has not listened to some of the most beautiful music ever heard in this here world or maybe he saw the title of the album "Ever Since You never Heard Of Me". If he hasn't maybe she should and then he can Ring The Living Bell!!
Bobby Frankenstein Potter: hard to believe someone actually interested in music, has never heard of you! to some of us you will always be the magic lady, although you claimed not to be!!!! ( I'm not a magic lady
But I wanna sing to help the light!) your singing is the light! Xx
Karen Bartolo: maybe this person who never heard of you should be schooled MELANIE 101
Seth E. Cutler: Well obviously this person heard and knew something enough about you to know that you exist to even ask you this question. How do you ask a question to someone you have never heard of? oy vey
Marc Ortlieb: Personally I envy anyone who has yet to hear of Melanie. Just imagine...all of that great music to hear for the first time.
Ankaret Harmer: The media are biased & tend to write about popular music stars that teenagers like, such as Beyonce, 1D, etc etc.
Anyone who is more interesting or not mainstream gets ignored un4tun8ly. I did hear of you Melanie in 1970 I think it was, when your album "Candle in the Rain" came out. You have been consistently brilliant ever since.
Paul Aquil:a Melanie??? Melanie??? mmmm can't remember back that far. HA!....your voice runs through these veins, your aura makes this heart smile heart emoticonOk I'll leave now before security shows up lol!
Melanie Shovelski: I was named after you, my lullabies were played on vinyls and trust me it was fun having 3 more Melanies in class
Sue Alger: You know what someone who says this to you has lived their life in a box...seriously...any one who ever had a radio in the 70s knows very well who you are... how many thirteen year old kids watched you on in concert on tv and thought my God she is fantastic. NO I can't imagine any body close to the Boomer age saying they don't know who you are. .. and many of us are still with you today!!!
Rick Hunt:They had to be there.
Robert Xeno: We all know so sorry this person didnt, but happy to know they soon will. bless
